Three already available

Acer seems determined to make a great impression on the mobile phone market, and, after announcing at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona a series of new handsets powered by the Windows Mobile operating system, the company is now reported to plan launching no less than eight devices on the Singapore market.

All the phones will become available during the ongoing year, only that five of them will come sooner, while the other three a little later. Basically, the dual-SIM DX900 ($530 USD), the dual-faced DX650 ($397 USD) and the compact X960 ($463 USD) are already available, while the F900 and the M900 should land in May, although no price has been unveiled yet. The other three devices, namely the F1, L1 and C1, will also be here before the end of the year.

The Acer DX900 comes with a 2.8-inch WVGA touch screen, featuring a Samsung SC3 6400 533 MHz processor, as well as 256 MB Flash ROM, 128 MB SDRAM. It has dual-SIM capabilities and supports HSDPA / UMTS 2100/1900/850 MHz and quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz for the first SIM, and GSM tri-band 900/1800/1900 for the second one. There is also a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus, as well as a VGA front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR and GPS capabilities.

DX650, the second Acer phone, comes with a dual-Face design with touchscreen on one side and keypad on the other and a 2.8-inch QVGA touch screen; it is powered by a Samsung SC3 6410 533 MHz processor, has 256 MB Flash ROM, 128 MB SDRAM and includes a 2-megapixel fixed focus camera, GPS capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, and Windows Mobile 6.1 with Spb Mobile Shell v2.1.

The X960 includes the same processor, ROM and RAM, yet it comes with High speed HSPA connectivity, a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera, a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0+EDR, GPS capabilities and Windows Mobile 6.1, Outlook, Office and the widget-based Acer Shell v2.0 UI.

The F900 and M900 are expected to come in May, sporting GSM/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900 MHz connectivity, Wi-Fi, BT 2.0+EDR, GPS, a 3.8-inch WVGA touch screen each, as well as Windows Mobile 6.1, Outlook, Office, widget-based Acer Shell v2.0 UI. While F900 sports a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus camera and HSDPA/HSUPA: 2100/1900/850 Mhz connectivity, M900 comes with a physical QWERTY keyboard and a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera.
