According to the latest news on the Web, we should be able to see the first Acer smartphone launched on the market as soon as this month, while a second handset should surface at the beginning of the next one, with two more devices expected to be launched by the end of the second quarter of the ongoing year.

It seems that Vincent Chen, manager of product marketing at Acer's Smart Handheld Business, has stated recently that the company plans to launch its first 3G touchscreen smartphone running under Microsoft's Windows Mobile OS, the DX900, before this month is over. The handset comes with support for two SIM cards that can be used at the same time, only that one of them supports HSDPA, while the other one goes with EDGE.

The second device to be launched by Acer is X960, which should come to the market by early next month. This 3G touchscreen handset features a 2.8-inch display, while also sporting a five-way navigation button under the screen. The device includes GPS capabilities, a 3.2-megapixel digital camera, as well as a music player and some other features.

As many of you might already know, the computer maker also intends to release to the market the M900 and F900 handsets, which are its premium devices from the line. The two smartphones also run under Windows Mobile operating system and both come with a 3.8-inch touchscreen display. Acer should launch the phones on the market later in Q2 2009.

The Acer F900 comes as a rather thin and stylish handset, which should fit any user out there, while the M900 sports a sliding QWERTY keyboard and is targeted at business customers. For the time being, there are no pieces of information available on the price tags the four Acer handsets will come with.
