Norwegian company Opera Software has just announced that its Open Mobile Ad Exchange service, which provides cloud-based advertising on feature phones and smartphones, is now open for business.

According to the company, the new solution can provide advertisers, publishers, and wireless operators with access to the largest mobile audience in the world, as over 66.5 million phone owners use Opera Mini to access the Internet.

Moreover, Opera stresses upon the fact that the launch enables mobile advertisers to access the world of feature phones, where Opera Mini is the leading Internet browser.

Opera’s Open Mobile Ad Exchange enables:

- Publishers maximize their revenue from apps and content by using easily-embedded JavaScript in their webpages.
- Advertisers gain unique and detailed visibility and control over advertising monetization via near-real-time reporting and analytics.
- Sophisticated campaign management, frequency control and targeting results in optimal return on investment for mobile campaigns.
- Advertisers, agencies, and ad networks reach a broad and diverse audience using Opera Mini or other browsers. The ads appear not in the browser interface, but as regular website advertising.

The new Open Mobile Ad Exchange also offers easy implementation features, enabling publishers and developers to benefit from great tools when it comes to managing and optimizing their revenue.

At the same time, they would take advantage of a new marketplace that puts together a wide range of advertisers, ad agencies and ad networks.

Publishers can now freely decide how, when and where the adverts will appear in their content, Opera continues.

“We have spent the last ten years building a mobile browser that delivers a great user experience,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.

“Today marks a new chapter in our company, helping publishers, developers and mobile operators drive their mobile revenues by reaching out to and engaging a savvy global audience.

Whether you want to monetize a free site or application or raise the visibility of your existing content, the Open Mobile Ad Exchange gives you a single point of access and control.”
