This week our gaming hours were spent on Dead Space 2, the horror shooter from Visceral and Electronic Arts, and we have both a full review to show for all our effort and a strong of Game Diaries detailing some aspects of the game, like the coherence of the setting and Clarke's voice acting.

We also posted a Weekend Reading piece about how second hand and digital distribution could work together in the future and an EndWeekGame piece about our gaming options for the two days off.

And, as always, we have a selection of the most interesting news reports of the last seven days.

On Monday, the information avalanche linked to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continued with the developers at Bethesda confirming the presence of the Dark Brotherhood and the dynamic nature of the included side quests.

Analysts also speculated on the newly announced PlayStation Portable 2 handheld from Sony, with a price point of 250 dollars for North America predicted.

On Tuesday, the First Strike downloadable content for Call of Duty: Black Ops was revealed and gamers quickly began reporting issues with it while Square Enix offered more information on the new Final Fantasy XIII-2, saying that Lightning will be a whole new character for the sequel.

On Wednesday, EA Sports predicted the results of the Super Bowl XLV via the power of the Madden NFL 11 video game, saying that the Steelers will triumph in the game while the developers for the racing game Need for Speed Shift 2 Unleashed said that they were not directly competing with Gran Turismo 5 from Polyphony Digital and Sony, which they claimed was too scientific.

On Thursday, People Can Fly showed off their marketing muscle by launching a small parody game called Duty Calls, poking fun at first-person shooter conventions, while BioWare offered information on how character death would be handled in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

On Friday, Electronic Arts officially leaked out a teaser trailer for Battlefield 3 and a Dragon Age 2 demo was confirmed for late February.
