This week, the E3 blow out happened. Almost all of our news articles came out the Los Angeles Convention Centers, as the biggest companies in videogaming showed off the titles and devices that would shape our experiences in the coming year. Here are the biggest pieces of news of the last few days.

Monday was all about fresh stuff for old franchises. We found out that Madden NFL 10 was set to get online co operative play, with the online franchise option from NCAA Football 09 also a possibility. For the long running Need for Speed games, Electronic Arts announced the cover image, the BMW M3 GT2, and a full list of cars and tracks players would be able to enjoy.

Tuesday was about sequels for long running series, with Konami finally talking about the game that inspired so many countdowns. It will be called Metal Gear Solid: Rising and is set to feature Raiden as the main playable character. Fans aren't especially pleased by the choice. Microsoft and Bungie also unveiled a new game in the Halo series, called Reach, set to arrive sometime in 2010. Fans are pleased.

Nintendo brought out the big guns at the E3 trade show and announced that it was planning to launch a slew of new Mario games, including Super Mario Galaxy 2 and a remake with New Super Mario Bros. on the hardware side. The Wii should get a Vitality Sensor with some not yet disclosed gaming applications.

On Thursday, Microsoft implied that the unveiling of the motion tracking Project Natal would prolong the life of the Xbox 360 until 2015. All the big consoles have motion tracking, right? FIFA 10 also got pretty well detailed by EA Sports, which is being unveiled earlier than usual.

Friday brought an announcement from THQ related to WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010, which is set to offer even more freedom and more fighting options than previous titles, while Sony stated that E3 was not the best place to announce the price cut that everyone was hoping for related to the PlayStation 3. Apparently, it is still a great venue to announce the imminent launch of the PlayStation Portable Go!.

And, if the week was not busy enough, we also have a bit of Weekend Reading prepared for you, dealing with all the motion sequence controllers that seem to be popping up everywhere.
