Could also have online franchises

Electronic Arts is always trying to attract new players to the long running Madden franchise and this year, it seems that one of the biggest wishes of the fans will come true. Electronic Arts has released a video that talks about the online features for the upcoming football videogame and one of the touted additions is that of co operative online play.

Ian Cummings, who is the senior designer on Madden NFL 10, also hints that, aside from online co op, more features based around the Internet might be added to the title this year. The idea is to make the football game something of a social experience, with players interested not only in winning in single player but interacting with other players, either in the spirit of cooperation or by facing off one against another.

Madden NFL 10 is already shaping up to be a revolution compared to previous titles in the series. An all new graphics engine will bring the game closer to photo realism, while a new set of gameplay mechanics are set to allow players even more freedom on the pitch, with more moves available for those looking for the perfect pass or tackle.

Surprisingly, one of the features that were not talked about in the developer video from Electronic Arts is that of online franchises. NCAA Football 09 has something similar and fans had been expecting to also see it in the flagship sports franchise of Electronic Arts.

A spokesperson for the company commented that “We'll be making another major announcement regarding our online plans for Madden NFL 10 at our press conference on June 1.” So, we'll probably know the faith of online franchises by tomorrow.

Madden NFL 10 is scheduled to be released for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the PC, the PlayStation 2, the PlayStation Portable and the Nintendo Wii on August 14.
