The official unveiling of Xiaomi Mi5 is just around the corner, so it makes sense that new information about the smartphone will continue to emerge online.

After Xiaomi's VP Hugo Barra confirmed the Mi5 would be announced on February 24, we now have a screenshot attesting never-before-seen specs to be included in the flagship smartphone.

The screenshot published by GizChina shows that Xiaomi Mi5 will offer dual-SIM support. Another important feature that we've never heard before is NFC (Near Field Communication), which appears in the screenshot as well.

If you doubt the authenticity of the image, then you should know the screenshot has been shared by Xiaomi's chairman Lei Jun directly from the device he uses.

A single-SIM variant might still be launched

Although the smartphone will definitely be released with dual-SIM support in China, a single SIM version for the international market shouldn't be ruled out. In fact, Xiaomi might announce at least two Mi5 versions with 3GB and 4GB of RAM onboard.

Aside from that, we already know that Xiaomi Mi5 will come with a 5.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution. A cheaper version with full HD (1080p) display might be launched around the same time too.

On the back, the smartphone will pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper while in the front the Mi5 should feature an 8-megapixel camera.

Xiaomi Mi5 will be powered by a large 3,600 mAh battery, but it's unclear whether or not it will be removable, so we will have to wait until the Chinese company makes the phone official.

Naturally, the Mi5 will ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box, along with MIUI 7 on top of it.

Design-wise, Xiaomi seems to have chosen metal for its next flagship smartphone, so it will be a fierce competition between the Mi5, Samsung Galaxy S7 and, possibly, LG G5.
