Lenovo and Motorola are expected to introduce at least two new smartphones at Mobile World Congress 2017 later this month, the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. Although they will be unveiled in Europe, we can safely assume Lenovo will bring the smartphones to additional territories.

In the United States, at least one of the smartphones will be picked up by major carrier Verizon Wireless. Evan Blass recently published a press render of the Moto G5 Plus variant that will be offered by the Big Red.

Surprisingly, Verizon did not put its own logo on the Moto G5 Plus, so you'll only find Motorola's “M” branding on the back side of the smartphone.

Unfortunately, the press photo does not come with any details about Moto G5 Plus' availability and price. However, the date on the home screen might suggest an April 3 release at Verizon, which means the carrier will launch the phone more than a month after its official unveil.

Still, the Moto G5 Plus might not be available in Europe or other countries much earlier than in the United States. We're also expecting other carriers in the US to add the Moto G5 or Moto G5 Plus to their portfolios.

Fingerprint scanner in the front, rear camera with dual pixel autofocus

According to previous reports, the Moto G5 Plus is supposed to pack a 5.5-inch display with full HD (1080p) resolution. In addition, the mid-range smartphone is rumored to feature an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor inside.

A 12-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual pixel autofocus could be added too, along with a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera in the front. The Moto G5 Plus comes with a fingerprint scanner, which will be placed under the physical Home button.

Other highlights of the phone include 2GB RAM, 64GB of internal memory, and 3,000 mAh battery with Motorola's TurboPower fast charging technology.

Obviously, both Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat operating system right out of the box.
