Verizon customers who bought the LG G5 were probably anxious to get Android 7.0 Nougat on their phones seeing that Sprint and T-Mobile have already rolled it out to their customers.

The good news is it didn't take Verizon too long to release the Nougat update for the LG G5. The Big Red has just announced it has kicked off the rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat for LG G5, so it should reach all devices in the coming days.

Before downloading the update you should know a couple of things. First of all, the update is going to come via Wi-Fi or Verizon's network, so make sure you have a strong connection regardless of the method you decide to use.

It's also important to ensure that the phone's battery is fully charged before starting the Android 7.0 Nougat software update. Apart from that, you should know that the upgrading process might take up to 20 minutes since this is a fairly sizable download at 1.7GB.

Lots of changes for Verizon LG G5

Now, here are some of the new features you'll get after upgrading to Android 7.0 Nougat. A new range of Themes will be added, which will allow you to personalize your phone.

Also, you will now be able to retrieve deleted images from the Gallery since they will be stored in the Trash folder for 7 days. In order to retrieve a photo, you can head to Gallery / Albums / Trash and tap the 3 dots Menu icon to move the photo to whatever folder you want.

Furthermore, you will now be able to use the LG G5 to charge another device. The screen display when a USB cable is connected to the LG G5 has been slightly modified to make room for new options.

Naturally, the multi-window support is there as well, which will allow you to split the screen and use 2 apps at the same time. Also, unlocking the device with notifications displayed has been modified and the unlock screen will not show overlaying notification displays.

Sound and Notifications settings have been separated and Storage and USB has been replaced by Storage. It's also worth noting that the LG Downloads app has been replaced by the Google Downloads app.
