14 DAY TRIAL // Lark Voorhies, famous for her role on the classic sitcom “Saved by the Bell,” has been in the headlines a lot recently, but only for stuff relating to her personal life. In April this year, she got married in secret in Las Vegas, to music engineer Jimmy Bell. She is now seeking divorce.
TMZ confirms the filing, as well as the fact that Lark is asking a judge to make sure Jimmy gets no kind of access to her money. He, on the other hand, is trying to make himself look better in the media by blaming the divorce on his soon to be ex-mother-in-law.
A troubled relationship from the start
The moment news broke that Lark had gotten married was the same moment when the first signs of drama appeared, because confirmation of the Vegas quickie came with a report that Bell was a wanted man.
The two met on Facebook and apparently hit it off right away when they met. Within less than a year, they decided they were made to grow old together, so they decided to tie the knot.
Lark’s mother, who spoke to the press before about her daughter’s mental issues (she suffers from bipolar disorder), as well as about her refusal to take medication she’s being prescribed for it, was not invited to the ceremony.
Weeks later, it emerged that the newlyweds were still living with Lark’s mother and that she considered her new son-in-law a “gangster” who wouldn’t stop freaking her out. Instead of solving whatever problems they had at home privately, Lark and Jimmy did an interview with ET to defend themselves.

Marriage hit the skids quickly, as expected
In short, there were signs the marriage wouldn’t last from day one. As Lark’s mother suggested, her mental issues made her an easy target for people who wanted to take advantage of her.
In court documents filed, Lark is asking the judge to “cut any chances of spousal support for Jimmy,” which means that she wants a clean break, where she can put this failed marriage completely in the past.
Because there’s an implication that he must have done something terrible to her for her to ask this, Jimmy is telling TMZ that the marriage “has been a nightmare from the beginning and Lark’s mom was a big part of their issues” and that “the only reason Lark filed for divorce first was because he didn’t know how to do it.”
