Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 is definitely one of the most anticipated smartphones to arrive in the second half of 2016. While there has been quite some speculation on the device’s specs and even its name, one of the biggest questions regards the launch date. Now it seems that the information has leaked in an image that shows Samsung’s invite to the launch event.

Sammobile has posted an image of an invite to the Galaxy Unpacked 2016 event, which will be held on August 2, at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, in New York.

The image shows five curved lines in the shape of a “7,” with the phrase “The next edge is just around the corner” hinting that the event is scheduled to unveil the Galaxy Note 7 Edge. Previous rumors indicated that the smartphone would see the light of day in the US on the week of August 15.

As the image suggests, it seems that Samsung will go for the 7 moniker on its upcoming Galaxy Note series, thus skipping a generation number. The name ensures that the next Note will be in line with the current flagship series, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

The invite also reveals that, after all, Samsung will be releasing an Edge version of the Galaxy Note 7, which will surely catch the eye of consumers. But it seems that Samsung will only be unveiling the Edge version of this particular device, and not the standard one as well.

What the image doesn’t disclose are the specs of the upcoming smartphone. The Galaxy Note 7 Edge is expected to come with a 5.8-inch QHD curved edge display and a 4,000mAh battery.

At its core, it should pack a Snapdragon 823 SoC or an equivalent Exynos chipset. Moreover, the device could sport an iris scanner and feature IP68 certification for water and dust protection.
