With only a couple of months left until Samsung unveils the upcoming Galaxy Note 6 (or 7), images of the device start to leak online. The new photos portray the handset and clearly show off its dual edges, together with the measurements for the tablet.

A few days ago, a 3D video render of the Galaxy Note 6 detailed the device’s design, while also hinting that it might come with a dual-edge display, similar to the one on the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

The video revealed the S Pen on the right, next to the speaker, and confirmed previous rumors that the device has USB Type-C port.

The new images leaked by @ShaiMizrachi and featured on Android Authority show that the upcoming smartphone will be 7.8mm thick, and this means that it will measure slightly more than its predecessor, Note 5, which had a thickness of 7.6mm.

The extra thickness might be due to the fact that Samsung intends to incorporate a larger battery. The smartphone will be 153mm tall and 74.5mm wide, which is less compared to the Galaxy Note 5 (153.2mm x 76.1mm).

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 could be unveiled on August 2

However, aside from the images and the video, there’s no definite information that the upcoming Note series will actually come with an Edge variant. In fact, not even the name of the series is confirmed. However, Samsung is thought to skip a number in the Note series and name the upcoming smartphone Galaxy Note 7.

One reason for this might be the fact that it wants users to associate the number 7 with the latest smartphone on the market and align the Note series to the Galaxy S series. Still, the next Galaxy Note is expected to have a Snapdragon 823 or Exynos 8890 processor and 6GB of RAM.

The latest rumors on the release date point to the launch date on August 2, but that remains to be seen over the following weeks, when more information is bound to surface.
