Rumors on the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 continue to grab the attention of the media and new information reveals an approximate date when the device will be available in the US market. Leakster Evan Blass showed that the Galaxy Note 6 might be released in the U.S. in mid-August.

A few months ago, it was revealed that the Galaxy Note 6 was scheduled for release in July, but it will reach the United States about a month later, in the week starting August 15. The information could prove to be correct, considering that Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 5 in the same month of last year.

There are no details on the specs, but rumors say that the Note 6 might come with IP68 certification, which would make the device protected against water and dust. Users might enjoy an iris scanner on the device that might come with a 5.8-inch Quad HD display of 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution. Galaxy Note 6 is also expected to come with Android N, the next major update for Google’s mobile OS.

Two variants of the phablet might be available

It’s still unclear if Samsung will opt for the latest Snapdragon 823 processor or an Exynos 8890. Consequently, it might come with 6GB of RAM, USB Type-C port and a 12 MP rear camera, similar to the one found on Galaxy S7 series. The device might be powered by a battery of at least 4,000mAh and come with storage space of 256GB.

It is rumored that Samsung might unveil a lite variant of the Note 6, with the same size display but a lower resolution of 1080p. The processor wouldn’t be as powerful as on the main variant and the lite version would have 4GB of RAM. The two versions will come with S Pen styluses, as it’s one of the features that make the device stand out from other phablets on the market.

One reason why Samsung might have decided to release the device before IFA Berlin, held in September, regards the rumored launch of the new iPhone 7 in the same period. This would give the Galaxy Note 6 plenty of time to shine in the smartphone market, before Apple launches its latest flagship phone.
