14 DAY TRIAL // OnePlus has already delivered Android 7.0 Nougat updates to both its flagship smartphones, but that's no reason not to continue to improve the software running on the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.
Recently, the Chinese company started the rollout of the first OxygenOS beta build based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The update is only available for OnePlus 3 devices, but we can safely assume that the stable version will be deployed on the OnePlus 3T as well.
If you've been testing OxygenOS beta builds on the OnePlus 3, then you will most likely receive the new version OTA (over the air). Tagged as OxygenOS 4.0.1, the first Nougat-based beta build for OnePlus 3 includes a couple of new features and improvements, but also some known issues.
So, you will obviously get the new notifications and settings menu designs, as well as custom DPI support. Also, multi-window view and new status bar icon options will be added too. The shelf customization has been improved, while the system stability has been increased.
The new build brings updated APN settings for select carriers and fixes proximity sensor bug during calls. That's about all the new features and improvements included in the update, so let's take a look at the known issues and fixes.
First of all, you might notice that some apps will not download from Google Play store. Apparently, if you try to download the app via Data Roaming, it will not work, as this is a known Google issue.
In order to fix this issue, you will have to follow Google's troubleshooting steps and see if the problem is solved. In addition, you could also try turning on Battery Saving Mode and reset Play store app preferences.
One other workaround recommends that you try to force stop or uninstall the following apps, if you have them installed on your OnePlus 3 smartphone: Truecaller, AVG Antivirus and PayTm. You have to force stop or uninstall them before trying to download any other app from the Google Play store.
Moving on to the next issue, OnePlus states that, if you still experience mobile data issues caused by APN, then you should head to APN settings page and manually try all the options.
