OnePlus 3T is one of the few smartphones launched by the Chinese company that will receive an Android 7.0 Nougat update this month. Alongside the OnePlus 3, the smartphone is slated for an upgrade to Nougat, and the handset maker promised it would happen by the end of the year.

Now, those who own the OnePlus 3 can already enlist in the beta program, which will allow them to test Android 7.0 Nougat beta builds before the update goes live for everyone.

We can't say the same thing about the OnePlus 3T, since the Chinese OEM announced this smartphone would not receive any Android 7.0 Nougat beta builds during the testing process.

However, that doesn't prevent OnePlus from releasing other updates for its newest flagship smartphones, With that in mind, OnePlus has announced that a new OxygenOS 3.5.4 update is now available for the OnePlus 3T.

The update is pushed OTA (over the air) to a small percentage of users, but it should be available to more users in the coming days.

According to the official changelog, the update brings several optimizations and a couple of fixes and improvements. For example, the update is supposed to add some optimizations for T-Mobile network in the United States.

Also, optimizations to reduce lag when battery is below 5% have been implemented too, along with improvements to Bluetooth connectivity for Mazda cars and enhanced battery saving mode (GPS and orientation preferences will be restored when Battery Saving Mode is closed).

OnePlus confirmed it fixed flashlight usability issue in WhatsApp and increased system stability. Naturally, some other various bug fixes have also been added.

This might be the last software update before OnePlus releases Android 7.0 Nougat for the 3T, but other updates are likely to be rolled out to fine tune the phone's software.
