Verizon recently posted the changelog but pulled it quickly

Motorola fans in the United States must have been very happy that the company launched another high-end smartphone in the country, the DROID Turbo 2.

Even though the smartphone comes preloaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system, Motorola announced that a Marshmallow upgrade would be available at some point.

While many of its smartphones have already received the highly anticipated update, the DROID Turbo 2, which is exclusively available in the US at Verizon Wireless, is still stuck on Lollipop.

The good news is that will soon change since Verizon and Motorola are readying the rollout of the update. The carrier briefly posted the Android 6.0 Marshmallow changelog on its support website, AndroidPolice reports.

Although the post has been quickly pulled by Verizon, at least we know that DROID Turbo 2 owners won't have to wait that long for the update to arrive on their smartphones.

The DROID Turbo 2 Employee Edition has already received the update

Among the improvements Android 6.0 Marshmallow for DROID Turbo 2 will bring, Verizon mentioned the Now on Tap, App Standby and Doze mode features.

Also, the upgrade will bring Do Not Disturb mode, expanded volume controls, Direct Share and Attentive Display as part of Moto Actions.

App Permissions, expandable storage (adoptable) and many other improvements and new features will be implemented as well.

In other news, Verizon has already released Android 6.0 Marshmallow for DROID Turbo 2 Employee Edition back in December, but getting the update on the standard model seems to require a little bit more time.

A soak test for members of the Motorola Feedback Network also ran a few months ago, so it must be Verizon that's delaying the update so long. Here is hoping that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will arrive on the Motorola DROID Turbo 2 sooner rather than later.
