Both smartphones will go on sale beginning October 29

As expected, Motorola and Verizon have taken the wraps off two new DROID smartphones, the Turbo 2 and Maxx 2.

According to Motorola, both DROID Turbo 2 and DROID Maxx 2 will be available for purchase beginning October 29.

Customers will be able to grab the DROID Turbo 2 for $26 per month for 24 months ($624 retail price) or $30 per month for 24 months ($720 retail price).

On the other hand, the DROID Maxx 2 should be available for purchase for just $16 per month for 24 months ($384 retail price).

Motorola advertises the DROID Turbo 2 as world's first smartphone to feature a shatterproof display. Thanks to the Moto ShatterSield display technology included, the phone's screen is guaranteed not to shatter in every-day use.

Two worthy DROID sequels

The DROID Turbo 2 is compatible with Moto Maker, so customers will be able to design their smartphones choosing from more than 1,000 options.

On top of that, those who purchase the 64GB model by December 31, 2015, will be allowed to redesign their DROID Turbo 2 one time within two years of purchase for free.

Next in line, DROID Maxx 2 comes with a long-lasting battery, which promises up to 48 hours of continuous usage. The smartphone comes with a TurboPower charger that offers up to 8 hours of power in just 15 minutes of charging.

Motorola also confirmed that customers who purchase the DROID Maxx 2 will be able to customize it since if features interchangeable backs. Also, it supports protective flip shells that must be purchased separately.

Keep in mind that DROID Turbo 2 is only available in Black with Deep Sea Blue and White with Winter White color options. On the other hand, the DROID Maxx 2 comes in White Soft Grip, Black Soft Grip, Grey Ballistic Nylon and Black Pebbled Leather colors.
