Some performance improvements have been implemented too

Microsoft is back with yet another update for its Android app, Arrow Launcher. Those who've been testing the launcher already know what to expect from the latest release since Microsoft pushed these new features to the beta channel a few weeks ago.

By far the most important new feature included in the latest version of Arrow Launcher is support for Android tablets, something that users have been asking since the launcher was made available for download in the Google Play Store.

Besides the option to use it on tablets, Arrow Launcher received a new horizontal layout feature for the “all apps” page, as well as additional Bing wallpapers. Also, the developers have added more backup options in the “Backup & restore” menu.

There's also a new carousel scrolling mode that everyone can use now, along with the ability to hide headers. Lastly, Microsoft included the option to configure the utility page using various settings like show/hide and card color (transparent or solid white).

Expect the new version to use less battery and memory

Surprisingly, Microsoft has announced that the update brings some under-the-hood improvements as well. For example, the launcher should now be 10% faster than any other previous version.

Moreover, Arrow Launcher is supposed to use 15% less battery and 20% less memory, which is quite an achievement. There's also a new utility page, which allows users to pin utility “cards” as individual pages, as well as customize it the way they wish.

Microsoft has already pushed Arrow Launcher version 3.0 in the Google Play store, so you might want to update your app if you have it installed.

Keep in mind that a beta version of Arrow Launcher is available for download as well, but you will have to join the beta program first. If you plan to participate in the beta, then make sure you provide feedback to developers.
