LG has just revealed that its flagship smartphone, the G6, will be made available globally starting this week, as the first global flagship smartphone to ship this year, ahead of the Galaxy S8.

LG G6 will be made available to international markets, including North America, Europe, Asia, Central and South Americas, over the course of the next few weeks. LG has revealed that about 200 carriers and operators will make the phone available to their customers.

The LG G6 is already available in the US at a number of carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. The official release date in the US is tomorrow, which is when the phone will arrive in stores. An unlocked version of the LG G6 will be launched soon.

LG G6 comes with a 5.7-inch FullVision display in a compact body, while also featuring resistance against water damages. The display has a unique 18:9 aspect ratio and Quad HD+ resolution. The G6 draws power from a 3,300mAh battery, and comes with Quick Charge 3.0.

In addition, it comes with 4GB of RAM and runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 platform, while internal storage reaches 32 or 64GB (expandable to 256GB using a microSD card). Another selling point for the new phone is the dual-camera setup on the back with two 13MP sensors, one that features f/1.8 aperture, while the other has f/2.4. The rear cameras help deliver crisp, panoramic images, while the 5MP selfie shooter allows for large group pictures.

The metal and glass body give the phone a premium feel, while rounded edges provide impact resistance and thus make it more durable. In addition, LG revealed that the G6 passed several durability and safety checks, concluding that the phone is tough enough to be carried on actual military drills and missions. The G6 carries a price tag of between $600-$700 depending on the market.
