14 DAY TRIAL // Huawei already announced its flagship smartphones for this year, and the Chinese company is now focusing on bringing mid-range devices to the market. As such, the Nova and Nova Plus, which were announced less than a year ago, are now preparing to welcome successors.
A recently leaked teaser reveals that Huawei will debut the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus on May 26, and it seems that new images bring information about the color options. A poster surfaced over at SlashLeaks and it shows that the Nova 2 series will be made available in green, blue and pink color options.
The picture also shows black bezels surrounding the displays, which are slightly different to the images that we’ve seen in the TENAA listing for the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus. The listing showed white bezels for the two phones.
Nova 2 Plus will have a larger display than the 5.1-inch Nova 2
Still, the leaked poster seems to confirm the fact that the Nova 2 Plus will have a larger display compared to the standard Nova 2 model, although the design of both phones will be very similar. The smaller Nova 2 is expected to have a 5.1-inch display, while the larger Nova 2 Plus will most likely feature a screen size of 5.5 inches.
Details about internal specs are quite scarce at this point, but there’s no doubt that the two phones will feature mid-range components. Rumors say that both the Nova 2 and Nova 2 Plus will run the recently announced Snapdragon 660 platform with an octa-core Kryo 260 CPU. The chipset is developed on the 14nm process and it will consume less power and have an increased performance compared to previous models.
The smartphones are also said to draw power from batteries larger than 3,000mAh, while also featuring a fingerprint scanner on the back and dual-camera setup with LED flash. Pricing and availability will most likely be revealed on May 26, when the two phones will be officially announced.
