Huawei announced Nova and Nova Plus last year and it seems that the Chinese smartphone maker is preparing a successor in the series. Nova 2 already received TENAA certification, and reports from Huawei’s home country reveal that May 26 could be the unveil date.

The TENAA listing revealed images of the upcoming Nova 2 smartphone, showing off its dual-camera setup on the back and a fingerprint sensor that retained the same position as on the previous Nova smartphones.

Some design changes can be visible on the back panel, though, as Huawei appears to have integrated antenna lines at the top and bottom of the device, very similar to some of Apple’s iPhones. The company logo is visible on both the back and front side of the phone. The position of volume rockers and the power buttons seems to be the same, on the right side of the device.

2.5D glass front and dual-camera setup on the back

Huawei Nova 2 appears to have a 2.5D glass front, while the front camera sensor seems to have retained its previous position. Indeed, Nova 2 appears to employ a different, cleaner design compared to its predecessors, but it should still come with a metal body.

Reports suggest that Huawei Nova 2 will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor, while RAM capacity may be 4GB. The dual-camera setup could have 12MB sensors, and sadly, there’s no information about the battery capacity inside. Take the information with a grain of salt, though, as you should do with any leak.

Last year’s Huawei Nova and Nova Plus came with 5.0-inch and 5.5-inch full HD displays, respectively, while both smartphones ran the Snapdragon 625 platform. Nova Plus featured a larger battery of 3,340mAh, while Nova drew power from a 3,020mAh battery.

Rear camera capacity on the Nova Plus is 16MP with dual-tone LED flash, PDAF and OIS, while Nova featured a 12MP senor on the back and an 8MP front shooter, just like the larger model.
