Google has just announced that the first major update for its Snapseed mobile app is now available for download in the Google Play and App Store. The new update brings a couple of new features, as well as many improvements and optimizations.

The most important change that comes inside Snapseed 2.15 is the addition of a new Curves tool. For those who are not familiar with the application, Curves will allow you to adjust brightness levels and colors much more easily, so you can change the way your photos look.

According to Google, the new Curves tool has been ported from the desktop version of Snapseed, so those who previously worked with this build will feel quite familiar after updating to 2.15.

Newcomers will be able to learn how to use the new feature by taking a look at the many presets that come with the tool.

While this is the most important addition to Snapseed, Google has announced that it has implemented some other changes as well.

For example, the Face filter has been improved to provide a white choice of styles. If by any chance the application does not manage to detect faces, then you can now ask Snapseed to try harder.

Also, in the Text tool, all multiline styles should allow users to choose where to wrap lines. The grain quality in the Black & White has been improved too.

The official changelog also mentions a new option that has been added, which is supposed to allow Snapseed users to take advantage of the “Export” feature for saving their photos, for example on their SD card.

Last but not least, the Perspective tool brings back the vertical and horizontal corrections, while the Text tool should now allow to center text more easily. Make sure to update to the latest version if you want to benefit from the latest improvements.
