Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has promised that the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D title will have plenty of new features over the original game released back in 1998 for the Nintendo 64.

Nintendo is getting ready to debut its 3DS handheld console in Europe and North America later this month, and, after third-party developers will launch their games for it, the Japanese company is set to bring out its own heavy hitters.

Leading the charge of Nintendo games for the 3DS is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, a remake of the original Nintendo 64 title that amazed legions of fans.

We've already heard quite a bit of details about it, but now, thanks to Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, we also know that the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time will be packing lots of special features.

"Of course, the Nintendo 3DS version of Ocarina of Time is crammed with interesting things that weren't in the Nintendo 64 version, but we'll wait to talk about those [closer to] the release," said the Nintendo executive during his most recent Iwata Asks session.

One big new feature of Ocarina of Time 3D was announced by the company a few weeks ago, when a representative said that the upcoming title would have, alongside the regular version, the special Master Quest edition.

For those not familiar with the Zelda series, the Master Quest edition was a remastered version of Ocarina of Time, launched alongside the Zelda: Wind Waker title for the Nintendo GameCube.

It featured rearranged environments and dungeons, as well as tougher enemies.

Ocarina of Time is currently scheduled to be launched this June, with Nintendo saying that it will appear, most likely, after the E3 conference, set to take place right at the beginning of that month.

After the launch of the Ocarina of Time 3D, Zelda fans should start saving up money once more, as Nintendo will debut The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword for the Wii later this year.
