Video game hardware maker Microsoft and a number of entities associated with the National Football League announce that they have entered into a partnership that will see the most popular North American sport arrive in style on the Xbox One home console.

Gamers will be able to watch the matches on the new home console as long as they have a modern television set, broadband Internet connections, an NFL account and a membership for Xbox Live Gold.

Additionally, they will be able to enjoy a special space for fantasy leagues, with VG247 saying that, "Xbox is the best place to track your NFL.com Fantasy Football team, and Xbox One delivers an integrated experience so you are up to date on all the analysis, highlights, news, stats, scores and standings."

A new Snap feature also allows gamers to mix live feeds with the fantasy team, the most recent scores and a number of stats for the most interesting players.

Skype, Twitter feeds and the official NFL site will be used to allow fans to interact with each other and react to the matches they are watching, while never powering off their game console.

A partnership with the ESPN channel will also allow Xbox One users to get more information about their favorite teams and get access to extended stats that will give them a more complete image of the game.

The Fantasy Football experience for the NFL is also set to be launched on the Xbox 360, Windows 8, the Surface and the mobile version of the operating service.

When the Xbox One was first announced, Microsoft offered a lot of information about the way the hardware would allow gamers to stay connected with all the action of the NFL without having to ever use their traditional content providers.

The next-gen console is set to launch towards the end of November.
