Mobile phones running under Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 operating system can be used for controlling iTunes, courtesy of a new application that made it to the Windows Phone Marketplace only a few days ago, called Remote, coming from Komodex Systems LLC.

While using this application, Windows Phone 7 owners can easily control iTunes straight from their handsets, being able to either browse through the available library of songs, or to choose playlists, songs, and albums.

Moreover, one would also have other features to enjoy with the software, including the possibility to easily pause the playback on iTunes, or hit play again, or to control the volume, and other options more.

“With Remote, you can control iTunes from your Windows Phone 7 device. You can browse through your iTunes music library and choose playlists, songs, and albums as if you were right in front of your computer – all from the palm of your hand. Play, pause, control the volume and more,” one can read on the app's website.

“Remote allows you to see all the artists, albums, songs, and playlists in your iTunes library. You can even use your device's keyboard to search for albums, artists, and songs by name. Once you find the media you're looking for, just tap to start playback.”

However, we should note that the application would require for iTunes 10.1 or later to be installed, and for an available Wi-Fi connection.

According to the application's developers, it can be used with Windows computers (running under XP or above), as well as with Mac OS-based machines (10.5.8 and above).

As stated above, the software was included in the Windows Phone Marketplace several days ago, and sports a price tag of $1.99, which is not that much, considering that one would be able to control the iTunes playlist remotely afterwards. More on this application is available here.
