Diva Whitney Houston is taking the show on the road, after the successful launch of her comeback album, “I Look to You.” The singer has announced that, come April, she will be embarking on her first European tour in ten years, with dates limited to England and Scotland for the time being, as The Sun can confirm.

At this point in time, Whitney is preparing for her comeback on British television as well, with an appearance on X Factor scheduled to take place this Sunday, October 18. The tour that will kick-start in April 2010 is seen, right now, more like a warm-up, with many fans hoping the five arena dates will soon be followed by more. As things stand right now, Whitney has only spoken about and confirmed these five shows, making no mention whatsoever of more.

So, on April 8, Whitney Houston will sing at Manchester’s MEN Arena, after which she will travel to Glasgow, Birmingham and Newcastle. The last concert will see the diva in London, on stage at the O2 Arena on April 25, as the aforementioned British publication informs. “This is my first full tour since 1999. I cannot wait to perform songs from my new album along with favorites.” Houston reportedly told the media about the upcoming concerts, as quoted by The Sun.

As part of her comeback to the music stage, Whitney Houston has opened up in great detail about her serious drug use and troubled relationship with husband of many years Bobby Brown. One of the most heartbreaking interviews was with Oprah, a two-part segment in which Whitney revealed, no holds barred, about how Brown used to verbally abuse and terrorize her and how she sank deeper and deeper into her drug addiction, until her mother intervened and, with the help of the police, got her to go to rehab.

“He [Brown] was my drug. I didn’t do anything without him. At home, he was very much the father, he was very much the man. He was very much in control. I liked that. When he said something, I listened. I was very interested in having someone have that kind of control over me. It was refreshing.” Whitney told Oprah about the dependant and destructive relationship she had with Bobby Brown.
