Vodafone UK and Research In Motion announced last week that the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone will be the newest addition to the 'BlackBerry from Vodafone' range.

The sleek and elegant BlackBerry 8800 includes a full, highly tactile QWERTY keyboard with a range of new features including built-in GPS, a multi-media player and an expandable memory slot. The large, high resolution screen, with its automatic light sensing technology, makes applications and attachments a pleasure to view. The handset's intuitive trackball navigation system helps users easily scroll, select menu items and navigate applications and Web pages.

The built-in GPS works with BlackBerry Maps and a range of location based applications and services to make it easy for users to find UK addresses, shops and businesses, track locations and get both visual routes as well as step-by-step driving directions. The BlackBerry 8800 is also supported by the latest in mobile applications for the BlackBerry platform so business-critical information can be accessed on the move.

"The BlackBerry 8800, with its slim design and full QWERTY keyboard will be a must for many of our corporate users," said Kyle Whitehill, director of Vodafone UK's Enterprise Business Unit. "We're pleased to expand the choice of BlackBerry handsets for our customers with the powerful and stylish BlackBerry 8800."

The new BlackBerry 8800 smartphone can access up to 10 supported personal and corporate email accounts (with support for attachment viewing) and work with many popular Instant Messaging services.
