Are you anxiously waiting for the release of the RIM Blackberry 8800c on Cingular? Well, it looks like you might not have to wait much longer because - according to some rumors - in a couple of weeks, the handheld will be officially launched.

Supposedly this will happen on February the 20 when a launch party event, hosted by RIM's President, Co-CEO and founder Mike Lazardis and Kent Mathy, President of Cingular's Business Markets Group will take place.

With an event where both RIM and Cingular will be present, it is to be expected that something is about to happen, and why not an official release of the Blackberry 8800c?

So, if all the 8800c rumors that have surfaced are true, starting the 20th of February you'll be able to get the latest Blackberry handheld that comes with GSM, GPRS and EDGE support.

Other features include Bluetooth for connectivity, a screen with a 320 x 240 pixel resolution, push-email and the QWERTY keyboard for easier e-mail composing.

For the time being, it's not exactly clear whether the handheld will come with a 1.3 megapixel camera, as neither the presence nor lack of it have been confirmed. According to previous rumors, the 8800c was expected to be launched around mid-February, so a 20th of February release is definitely a possibility.

Aside from the 8800c, RIM is also expected to release the 9xxx, a 3G handheld, but that one will keep us waiting longer as it will show up sometime in the fourth quarter of this year.
