Mobile phone carrier Vodafone UK has just added a new Android-based handset to its offering, the HTC ChaCha, one of the Facebook phones that HTC launched in February this year.

The handset comes with all of the social networking features that an Android device would include, such as the possibility to share music, photos, location and status updates, to which is adds a dedicated Facebook button for fast access to the website.

The HTC ChaCha is now available for purchase through the wireless carrier, offering users the possibility to enjoy the brand new mobile experience of Facebook, and more.

“Featuring a dedicated Facebook button, the HTC ChaCha that lets you share a whole range of things with your friends and family in an instant," the wireless carrier explains.

Take a photo - straight to Facebook. Make a video - straight to Facebook. Show whatever, whenever, at the touch of a button.”

At the same time, the new device comes with a Facebook chat widget, through which users can group all friends and see who is online to start a live instant chat.

The new mobile phone was made available at Vodafone for free on the £26 monthly plan with the signing of a 24 months contract (300 minutes, unlimited texts, 750MB of mobile data and 1GB of BT Openzone WiFi allowance are included in the package).

The specifications list of the new device includes a 2.6-inch touchscreen display, complemented by a QWERTY keyboard on the front, and a 5 megapixel photo snapper on the back, with video recording capabilities.

It is powered by a 800 MHz application processor, and sports 512MB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

In addition to offering fast access to Facebook, the new device also comes with video chat capabilities, courtesy of a 0.3-megapixel camera on its front.

The ChaCha also comes with support for the wireless carrier's 3G network, as well as with WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, and with built-in GPS receiver.

The mobile phone measures 114.4 x 64.6 x 10.7 mm and weighs in at 120 grams. Running under Google's Android Gingerbread platform, it can offer access to various Google Mobile services, as well as support for downloading applications via the Android Market.
