Wireless carrier Three UK is set to make available for purchase on its airwaves during the next two months a series of highly appealing mobile phones, seven in total, most of which are powered by Google's Android operating system.

Six new Android phones would soon be released on the wireless carrier's network, three in May and three more in June, and four of them come from, you guessed it, HTC.

The Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 3D are the Android handsets headed for Three UK which are not HTC devices, while the Nokia X7 is the only non-Android smartphone headed for the wireless carrier.

The high-end dual-core Samsung Galaxy S II is expected to become available for purchase at Three UK in May (it was announced as on its way to the market in the country on May 1st).

It should bring forth a dual-core application processor with each core clocked in at 1.2GHz, along with 16GB of internal memory, an 8MP camera on the back, front camera for video calling, microSD memory card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.

As for the Nokia X7, it was unveiled only a few weeks ago, and should arrive on shelves in June at Three, with the new Symbian Anna OS, and increased gaming capabilities.

The phone would boast a large touchscreen display, along with 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, microSD memory card slot, an 8-megapixel camera on the back, and the usual set of sensors.

The LG Optimus 3D lands on shelves as the first ever 3D capable smartphone in the world, offering users the possibility to both view and record 3D content while on the go.

In addition to these phones, Three UK also plans the launch of three new Android devices from HTC, the HTC Wildfire in May, and HTC Sensation and HTC ChaCha in June, complemented by the HTC Flyer tablet PC, also Android-based.

The HTC Sensation would be the most appealing of them, a match for the Samsung Galaxy S II, since it also packs a 1.2GHz application processor, along with 1GB of RAM, a large touchscreen, and the like.
