Verizon Wireless has finally decided it was high time to release the long expected LG Versa mobile phone to its users. The handset has been spotted a few times in leaked photos across the Web, and this time the official announcement comes to prove that all the rumors about a near launch of the device were actually true.

As many of you might already know, the mobile phone operator named the LG Versa its Most Versatile Phone (MVP). The reason for this would be the fact that the handset comes with a detachable QWERTY keyboard. The handset itself features a touchscreen display and includes LG’s own UI.

The detachable QWERTY keyboard is reported to come inside some sort of protective case for the phone, which also sports a small 56 x 120 pixel OLED screen. The handset was also expected to come bundled with a game pad, but the company hasn't said anything about its availability at the moment.

Most of you might already know what the LG Versa is expected to offer its users, yet we should say for those who might not know that the mobile phone is said to feature a 3-inch TFT touchscreen display capable of delivering a 240 x 480 pixel resolution, while sporting a 2.0-megapixel photo snapper that includes flash, face detection and video recording capabilities.

Other specs of the device include VZ Navigator, HTML browser with Flash and RSS feed support, Visual Voice Mail, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR capabilities, Music player and a 2.5mm headset jack. Those eager to grab the handset will have to wait two more days, as the phone carrier will start selling the LG Versa only on the 1st of March. The price of the phone is expected to be $199, after the inking of a two-year contract with the operator and following a $50 rebate.
