Ever since members of the “Twilight” cast began telling the media how the third installment, “Eclipse,” would be more guy-friendly, fans knew that this translated into more action scenes. This, in turn, meant more stunts for the actors, with Nikki Reed now explaining for People magazine how working on the third film almost made her want to die.

Reed, who plays blonde Rosalie in the vampire films, says working on so many stunts was tremendously hard. It wasn’t the stunts themselves that were too difficult for her – and the other cast members as well – but rather the fact that she had to do so many of them over a relatively short period of time. Add to that the fact that they would mostly shoot scenes on the pouring rain, in the cold, while they had to keep their vampire face on, and one can easily see why Reed is saying that working on “Eclipse” was harder than she might have expected.

“We’re always standing out in like 30-degree weather, with pouring rain, trying to keep our vampire makeup intact. It’s hectic, it’s crazy, it’s very jam-packed full of emotion,” Reed tells People of how “Eclipse” was both physically and emotionally draining. Of course, this is not the first time that a cast member speaks of the hardship they must endure on the “Twilight” set: a while back, Taylor Lautner and the actors who play the wolves in the Wolf Pack were also saying how hard it was to look menacing and buff while shivering shirtless in the cold.

“We were doing a lot of stunts, too much in too little time,” the actress goes on to explain, adding that life on set was “tough.” “The hardest part is trying to fly around on cables in the woods at 6 o’clock, fighting the sunset and stuff. And looking like we’re not cold and super powerful, when we just want to die,” Reed adds. Whether they managed to look super powerful or not will be seen when the movie comes out this summer, though fans are certain they did a wonderful job.

“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” arrives in US theaters on June 30, 2010. Until then, keep an eye on this space for more updates on the third installment in the highly successful franchise – and perhaps news of a new trailer as well.
