“The Twilight Saga: New Moon” is not even out yet and interest for the third film in the franchise is already peaking. On this note, Ashley Green, who plays Alice Cullen, the vampire with the power of seeing into the future, tells Splash News that “Eclipse” will be action-packed, therefore more “guy friendly,” as opposed to the first film that targeted mostly teenage girls.

According to the star, director David Slade is taking the “Twilight” franchise in a darker direction, which is the same thing that teen heartthrob Taylor Lautner was also saying a short while back, during an interview on the red carpet at the MTV Video Music Awards. In doing so, Slade will actually manage to do what seemed to be impossible until now, that is, make “Twilight” appeal to a different segment of the audience – even if that means battling it out with Summit Entertainment, Greene says.

“I think it’ll be different.” the actress explains for Splash News. “I think it’s going to be a battle between the studio and the director, and it’s going to be a hard balance, ‘cause I think he’s... a little more focused on it being real and maybe it being gorier and a little dark and kind of dramatic.” Greene adds. As for how Slade plans to make the film, which remains in essence a forbidden love story, gorier and darker, Greene doesn’t go into details.

However, it’s only natural that things take this course, given the story in “Eclipse,” which is very different from the one in “Twilight.” “The first one was very focused on this love story and really sweet and it was beautiful, but it didn’t have a lot of stuff that guys would go, ‘Yeah, I want to go see that.’ There’s going to be a lot more focus on [action], and the fight scene will have more emphasis on it. I definitely think it will be a little more guy-friendly.” Greene also says for the same news /paparazzi agency.

As we also reported a while back, Greene’s co-star Jackson Rathbone also promised that the third “Twilight” film would be more centered on action, as opposed to just on Bella and Edward’s love story. He too said that director Slade aimed at appealing to a wider audience with the film, and the only way he could do so was by including more action / fight scenes. However, until “Eclipse” is completed or drops in theaters, for that matter, fans are waiting for the release of “New Moon,” on November 20.
