Fans get a first glimpse at the third installment of the saga

Two days ahead of its official release in theaters with Robert Pattinson’s latest film, “Remember Me,” the first teaser trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” has popped up online. The ten-second footage shows all three leading actors and even includes some lines from the film.

As the video below will also show, though ten seconds is not much time, Summit Entertainment, the movie studio behind the Twilight juggernaut, has come up with a very good trick to include more footage by eliminating all credits. After all, one might as well say, it’s not like fans don’t know who the stars who appear in it are or who made the movie. As for the other details that might have been included, such as the release date and the customary MPAA rating from the beginning of each trailer, well, one is known and the other is of no importance.

“I know the consequences of the choice you’re making,” Edward (Robert Pattinson) tells Bella (Kristen Stewart) as they lay side by side on a bed. “I’m gonna fight for you until your heart stops beating,” Jacob (Taylor Lautner) professes to a rather confused (or maybe just pained) looking Bella – but not before the video shows a quick shot of the same Jacob in his best shirtless pose. With these two lines, the teaser not only shows the same rivalry that was present in the other two movies (though more poignant in “New Moon”), but also serves its purpose: it teases the fans.

We were telling you a few days ago that the first official footage from “Eclipse” would be shown in US theaters ahead of “Remember Me,” the romantic drama starring Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin that is already getting raving reviews from critics. “Thanks for over 250K of the greatest fans in the world! You have been guessing right this whole time... The #Eclipse Trailer will play with REMEMBER ME in theatres on March 12! Stay tuned for more information on where you can see it earlier that week,” a rep from Summit wrote on the studio’s Twitter page.

Even better, on March 20, fans of the saga will get the chance to see an actual scene from “Eclipse” by purchasing “The Twilight Saga: New Moon Ultimate Fan Edition” DVD, which also includes about 50 minutes of extra footage and interviews. Without further ado, below is the first teaser for “Eclipse.” Enjoy.
