No head scanning

DJ Hero manages to generate news pretty much every day, which says something about Activision's commitment to the Guitar Hero spin off.

After learning that DJ Jazzy Jeff will have his tracks featured in the game and that a Renegade Edition of the title will be sold, complete with stylish hard case, a premium mixing table and exclusive tracks from both Jay-Z and Eminem, we hear that Tiesto will be making an appearance in the game, through some tracks.

Tiesto talked to MixMag and told it that “I'm working on some things for them. There are gonna be tracks from me in the game, but they haven't scanned my head or anything.”

When DJ Hero was initially announced, Tiesto was said to be heavily involved in it but both he and Activision denied all reports at the time, probably because it was a bit premature for their collaboration.

So, players might get to use some of the tracks from the superstar in their mixing sessions and even some pre-made mixes created by Tiesto but he will not be a playable character, like DJ Jazzy Jeff, for example.

It makes sense especially considering that the DJ might be getting his standalone title at a later date. It would not make sense to allow players to be him before they shell out some more dollars for another DJ Hero title.

Tiesto is widely believed to be the biggest DJ in the world, with his reputation cemented at the 2004 Olympic Games, when his mixes reached about four billion people world wide. Expect Activision to release a list of the tracks from Tiesto in the coming days, giving us yet another reason to write about DJ Hero.
