Best known in the industry for its powerful NAS storage solutions, Thecus has recently announced that it has expanded its product portfolio to include a new series of network video recorders (NVR) dubbed the VisoGuard.

Thecus has designed these new VisoGuard NVRs in collaboration with NETAVIS, which was responsible of developing the special software used by these units.

This partnership allowed Thecus to introduce a series of advanced features in the VisoGuard devices, such as the ability to count people or track objects in the recorded video, as well as the option to connect a virtually unlimited number of surveillance cameras.

All the images are recorded in high quality while utilizing low bandwidth due to the included ABS technology.

These capabilities accompany other more standard features such as multiple OS support, scheduling, various video format support, and PTZ control, to name name just a few.

At the heart of the new NVR units announced today by Thecus stand Intel processors from the Atom, Celeron M, Core 2 Duo or Xeon series paired with generous amounts of RAM and able to support up to 12 internal HDDs in the top of the line VisoGuard NVR120N.

In addition to the 12 internal drive bays, the NVR120N can also be connected to an external eSATA storage device and includes 8GB of DDR3 RAM, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, and 700W redundant power supply with 80PLUS certification.

“If you are looking for a flexible, scalable, and integrated NVR solution for your home or business, Thecus VisoGuard provides you appliances from 2 bays to 16 bays according to your need,” said Florence Shih, General Manager of Thecus Technology.

“Our NVR solution offers the power and security features that Thecus customers have come to expect,” concluded the company's rep.

No information regarding the pricing or the availability of the VisoGuard line of NVR solutions was provided by Thecus.
