Heavenly Sword on a heavenly display

If you want to imagine that the heavy PS3 console is portable, one of the logical steps you'd have to follow is strapping an LCD display on it. Nevover Electronics took this chance, as you can see in the picture on the left and now gamers will be able to enjoy next-gen graphics at a 234x480 pixels resolution.

The 1080p graphics will remain the same, however the resolution is not exactly top notch, for a rich fanboy that just installed a PS3 in his hot ride. Nevover Electronic's PS3 display also features on-screen controls and high speed signal refresh rate (especially for fast-paced action games). You can adjust the screen's viewing angle as you please and, in case you're playing Resistance: Fall of Man while your parents are sleeping, dual earphone jacks are here to save the day.

You might expect the display to be pretty big to suit the PS3 mammoth-sized hardware, but it's not, measuring only 166mm x 100 mm x 5.8mm. I for one would surely like to show Heavenly Sword to my friends on a huge TV screen, in order to get a glimpse of Nariko's .... skills better, instead of using a magnifying glass to search for an item in the grass.

Joke aside, Nevover's display is pretty cool reminding me of a similar one that we saw back in the days when the first Playstation still rocked. The PSX also got a display strapped onto it, the slim version if I'm not mistaking. At the time, the whole contraption looked like a silly laptop that stole some Nintendo-ish features.

How long till we get a portable PS3 with the same graphics and storage space? The sole concept of such a console would make Nintendo tremble, unless they've got something similar up their Mario-branded sleeves...
