It is starting to be very difficult to keep track of all the smartphones HTC has planned for release and with all the rumors surrounding them.

In the case of the HTC Omni, not much was known up until now, except for its form factor. According to the latest info, the handheld will come equipped with an amazing 4 inch display with a 800 x 480 resolution, a 400MHz Samsung SC244X processor, 128MB of RAM, Qualcomm MSM 7200 chip, WiFi and Bluetooth for connectivity and support for GSM / GPRS / EDGE / UMTS / HSPDA. It sports the HTC Universal's form factor, highly resembling a mini-notebook, and is not as bulky as other Windows Mobile devices.

According to more rumors, the handheld will also feature a VGA output, but there's no way to tell if this is actually true. Just like in the case of other HTC models, the Omni will run on Windows Mobile 5.0, feature a complete QWERTY keyboard and offer pretty much the same applications that business users have grown accustomed to.

And since HTC usually drops a couple of multimedia features in each of their handhelds, the Omni will most likely not disappoint any type of user out there.

Pretty much is to be expected from HTC this year, especially because compared to other manufacturers, HTC always releases new and improved handhelds with more advanced features.

The Omni's release is expected in early 2007, so we probably won't have to wait long before more info on the handheld will appear, hopefully including availability and price tag.
