Every time an interesting handheld is close to being released, leaked photos will most definitely start roaming around the internet. Recently, Boy Genius Report have come across the first "live" photo of the HTC Vox.

Leaving the pasted-on display aside, according to the latest information, The Vox will feature a 2.4 inch QVGA display, 200 MHz OMAP processor, 128 MB ROM, 64 MB RAM, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g WiFi and USB 1.1 for connectivity and a MicroSD card slot for memory expansion.

As mentioned before, HTC Vox is a Windows Mobile 5 powered Smartphone which means that it comes with the usual Mobile Office suite, an extremely important feature for users who need to view, create or edit various office files, and also packs a 2.0 megapixel camera.

What makes this mobile phone really interesting is the semi-automatic sliding QWERTY keyboard it comes with, aside from a numeric keypad, Vox being the first smartphone to have a slide-out keyboard. Therefore, it should be very convenient and easy to use for texting.

The display can be used both in normal and landscape mode as in the case of most HTC handhelds featuring a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. HTC also managed to pack all these features in a pretty slim case, Vox being only 0.7 inches thick.

Although the pasted on screen does read "UMTS operator", there is no information that confirms that the quad-band EDGE capable Vox is a 3G mobile phone.

There is actually no way of knowing if the Vox will be released with these features or if it look like the phone presented in the photo, but there is a very big chance that the Vox will in fact include everything that's listed in the spec sheet.
