The new Gingerbread update brings enhancements and new features

Canadian mobile phone carrier TELUS has just made available for download a new software update for the owners of a Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G smartphone on its airwaves, namely the Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS.

Users who own such a device and would like to get a taste of the latest OS release from Google can now fire up the Samsung Kies application on their Windows PCs, connect their devices, and search for the downloadable files to update their handsets.

Users can also search for the new software from their mobile phones through heading over to Applications from the Home screen, then hitting Settings, and About phone.

Those who already have the Android 2.3.4 OS flavor installed on their devices will no longer need to upgrade to the newly released firmware. The update won't apply to devices who show build number GINGERBREAD.PTLKH2.

“As of September 2011, a new firmware version is available for the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate 4G. Before you update your smartphone, you need to know your current firmware version,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.

As stated above, users will need to upgrade the phone via the Samsung Kies application for Windows PCs. If they do not have the software installed on their devices, they can download it from Softpedia now, via this link.
