With Sense, enhancements and fixes

As soon as Redmond-based software giant Microsoft unveiled the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system to the world, users of handsets running under the older WM 6.1 flavor of the platform have been asking whether their handsets will also receive an update to the new iteration. Manufacturers and carriers around the world already committed to delivering the new OS to their users, and it seems that HTC and T-Mobile area on the list as well, and that T-Mobile's Touch Pro2 will soon see a ROM update, bringing the Windows Mobile 6.5 goodies to it.

While nothing is yet official on the matter, the shipping ROM for the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 update has been spotted into the wild, and the guys over at WMExperts brought the news to light, even if the ROM was pulled down soon after being spotted. What it comes around with includes the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, a great deal of enhancements and fixes, as well as HTC Sense 2.1, showing that the Taiwanese mobile phone maker is indeed committed to deliver the solution to a wider range of its handsets.

The list of changes the leaked ROM for the T-Mobile Touch Pro2 brings forth also includes: Fix: Browser favorites in the TouchFLO menu are not user customizable / editable. Fix:TouchFLO SMS shows that there is one new message but there is not. Fix:HTTP links and phone numbers embedded in SMS messages are not actionable in the TouchFLO screen. Fix:The weather displayed in calendar events will show as New York as default and user must change the default location in the World Clock application in order to change Client enhancement from Telenav to improve the billing MSN Widgets Facebook UI Improvements (Today Screen, New Themes) MSN Mobile Messaging Improvements (Conversation View) Send key change from white to green End Key change from white to red Home Key change to Microsoft Flag

Other changes are there as well, including the addition of a Visual Voicemail Application or of a Mobile Backup with Opt in and On Demand Sync option. Moreover, the new ROM sports Microsoft's Windows Marketplace for Mobile and the My Phone service, the former offering access to a wide range of software solutions for the OS, and the latter delivering an online backup service to Windows Mobile users. It shouldn't be too long before T-Mobile will announce officially the release of the new update for Touch Pro2, so stay tuned for more details.
