Last evening at the International 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Redmond-based Microsoft unveiled together with HTC and T-Mobile USA that the high-end Windows Mobile-based HTC HD2 mobile phone will make an appearance in the United States. The handset is set to arrive exclusively at T-Mobile during spring, and should bring along all the goodies that it packs and that most of you might know by now. The carrier has been already rumored to plan bringing this device to the US market, and now all is official, along with a launch time frame.

“Combining the intuitive user interface based on HTC Sense with an outstanding set of specifications and the powerful T-Mobile network, the HTC HD2 adds up to be not only an amazing device, but an amazing experience as well,” said Jason Mackenzie, vice president of HTC America. “The HTC HD2 is a Windows phone that has already been enthusiastically received in Europe and Asia and we are excited to bring this highly-anticipated device to the US, exclusively through T-Mobile USA.”

As many of you might already know, the HTC HD2 is the first Windows phone from HTC to come to the market with HTC Sense, a solution aimed at putting people at the center through delivering an easier, more natural and more personal way of using the handset. At the same time, the phone sports a great deal of raw power through the 1 GHz Snapdragon by Qualcomm mobile processor, and can offer an impressive mobile data experience with support for T-Mobile’s high speed 3G network.

Additionally, it should be noted that the HD2 is the first Windows phone to sport a capacitive touchscreen, offering an enhanced experience when it comes to viewing, zooming and resizing websites, Microsoft Office files, PDF documents or pictures. Other features of the handset also include GPS functionality, email support or the 5-megapixel auto focus photo snapper with dual LED flash and video recording capabilities.

Unfortunately, no details on the pricing of the device with T-Mobile USA have been unveiled at the moment. Those who would like to learn more info on this can register their interest here.
