14 DAY TRIAL // T-Mobile is about to kick off these holidays’ low rates battle by announcing new international calling and text package plans. It looks like the new roaming plans are cheaper than the currently available options from both AT&T and Verizon.
According to an internal document from T-Mobile, which was acquired by the TmoNews website, the carrier will officially launch the new plans starting December 8th.
The memo mentions that new low-cost offerings will enable users to send unlimited text messages to cell phones in over 220 countries, as well as call landline phones in over 50 countries without incurring long-distance charges, which means that all calls to these countries will count against the customer's monthly minute-allowance.
Subscribers are required to have a postpaid calling account with a monthly plan costing $49.99 or higher and an unlimited domestic text messaging plan. Additionally, subscribers must pay an extra $10 fee per line to add the international text and calling plan.
New customers who want International Talk & Text must select a plan with unlimited messaging built into the plan or choose the International Talk & Text + Unlimited US Messaging feature.
Customers who already have a plan with unlimited messaging are allowed to add only the $10 International Talk & Text feature.
Besides the individual plans available for the offer, T-Mobile will be introducing new Family plans with the international package which will work differently. For more details about this check out the attached image
As a side note, the new international calling package is limited to calls to landline phones. T-Mobile hasn't mentioned anything about mobile to mobile calls in its offer and there are slim chances that the carrier will be announcing anything in this regard.
There's no information regarding an official announcement, but as the memo suggests there's only one week to go until the offer will be available.
