T-Mobile G2, the Android-based handset brought to the market about two months ago, has finally got a permanent root, after a series of temporary solutions being made available for it.

When brought to shelves, the G2 seemed impossible to root, as HTC loaded it with an enhanced safety mechanism.

While various temporary root solutions were made available for the device, no permanent root was possible until now.

However, the guys over at XDA-Developers say that they finally managed to get things right, and the permanent root was made available for all those who own a T-Mobile G2 device.

According to those who managed to make the move, one would have to run the VISIONary app to gain temporary root on the handset.

A series of files, all listed on XDA-Developers forum here, are necessary for the rooting process, which is said to be rather risky.

All the necessary instructions on how to gain permanent root on this Android-based mobile phone can be found on the said forum thread.

As those who came up with the solution note, those interested in making the move do it at their own risk, as the process might harm their devices, while also voiding warranty.

The rooting of G2 is rather complicated and pretty risky, they say, and those who are not familiar with what the process involves should refrain from trying it.

However, those who already tried it say that things are working nicely, though some initial issues were spotted.

T-Mobile G2 owners interested in making the move should make sure they follow all the instructions detailed on the said forum threat step by step, to ensure that nothing goes wrong during rooting.

We already reported on the availability of VISIONary, a mobile application that can be downloaded from the Android Market, and which offers one-click root access to T-Mobile G2 (it works on other devices as well).
