Although rumors said that Super Smash Bros. Brawl was deep into development and wasn't going to be released until 2008, Nintendo has recently released the game's official website and a truck-load of razor-sharp detailed screens. More than that, inventory items have also been revealed (Eg: the Gooey Ball). Recently however, Nintendo has revealed an item that allows you to use your character's Final Smash: the "Smash Ball!"

While the Gooey Ball is used much like the sticky grenade in the Halo series, the Smash Ball is a powerful item allowing gamers to use their character's Final Smash (kind of like Fatalities in Mortal Kombat, but not as complex in terms of commands).

Creator Masahiro Sakurai writes on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl Blog that the Final Smash is "kind of like a powerful and personalized hammer. (Or maybe not...)" He continues by saying "You can look forward to experiencing the glowing personality behind each of the many Final Smashes!"

Here's the list of characters featured in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

- Fox McCloud: the main protagonist of the Star Fox series - Kirby: the star of the Kirby series, first appearing in Kirby's Dream Land for the Game Boy - Link: the protagonist of The Legend of Zelda series - Mario: Nintendo's official mascot couldn't miss his spot in the game - Meta Knight: a recurring enemy of the Kirby series - Pikachu: the mascot in the Pok?mon series - Pit: the savior of the Kid Icarus series - Samus Aran: the heroine of the Metroid series - Snake: the main guy of Konami's Metal Gear franchise - Wario: an antagonist of Mario and the star of the WarioWare Inc. and Wario Land games

The only Final Smash seen so far, as 1UP points out is the Mario Finale - an "explosion [that] launches out and expands vertically as it travels." Below, you have 4 screens in which Mario shows off his finishing move, courtesy of 1UP.
