Valentine's Day is a little more than a week away, and wireless carrier Sprint says it wants to make sure that its customers are able to make that day one worth to remember. Thus, it touts a series of applications available for its Android, webOS or BlackBerry users, and which enable them to treat their special someone to a gift or a romantic date.

“These innovative applications are easy to download on Android, Palm WebOS or BlackBerry smartphones from Sprint and can help Sprint customers treat their special someone to the perfect gift, a romantic date or a sweet gesture,” the wireless carrier notes. Among them, we can count software solutions through which one can easily make a gift to a love person, some that offer suggestions of hot restaurants, or those who enable one send music and poetry to the special someone.

In the first category, the carrier includes a "1-800-Flowers Mobile Gift Center" app to send flowers and gifts, (available for HTC Hero and Samsung Moment users via the Android Market), an Etsy Browser for Palm Pre and Palm Pixi users to view handmade jewelry, clothing or accessories, and the Godiva Chocolatier available in the BlackBerry App World. The last application enables users to order Godiva chocolates and other gifts no matter where they are, the carrier adds.

Those in search for a restaurant to set up a romantic date have a series of applications available for them too. Android users can try out the DinnerAtMyPlace app, an appealing kitchen helper, and they also have the Yelp solution, with local business reviews, including restaurants. Not to mention that the application is also available from the Palm App Catalog for webOS handsets, which also have the GetMeVino! app, a wine directory with searches based on variety, brand, vintage and store location.

Those who are in the creative side of things can try out special apps too, including: - Love Poems lets HTC Hero and Samsung Moment users find poems and quotes on love, romance or friendship, then share them through text or e-mail. - 100 Ways to Say I Love You, available on HTC Hero and Samsung Moment, gives users 100 romantic suggestions to show their loved one how they feel. - Musical Pro offers a play-along, light-up piano, keyboard, drums and other features so customers can play their loved one a tune, right on their HTC Hero or Samsung Moment. - Hallmark Mobile Greetings is available for download through BlackBerry App World and offers more than 500 animated greetings to which users can attach a personal note and send to most wireless phones for just 99 cents each from their BlackBerry.

Sprint's Ready Now program is also there to help customers learn more on how to use the applications or the features of their handsets. However, it should be noted that some data charges might apply when downloading the applications. Those who are interested in these software solutions should fire up the respective storefront on their handsets and start downloading.
