T-Mobile, Verizon and recently rumored AT&T are not the only carriers in the United States which are interested in having the Nexus One by HTC available on their airwaves. According to the latest news around the Internet, Sprint is also preparing to have the first Android-based mobile phone sold by Google available for its users, and it seems that its plans have been already confirmed to a certain extent.

For the time being, as most of you probably know, the Nexus One is being sold by Google only with support for T-Mobile's 3G network, and the company also announced that it would soon launch a new model, with support for Verizon's network. However, while these are the official details available on Nexus One and its availability, rumor has it that AT&T's airwaves will also be supported soon by a new flavor of the device, and it seems that Sprint might have a taste of it as well not far in the future.

According to the guys over at Gizmodo, they asked Sprint about Nexus One and received the following response from the carrier: Thank you for contacting Sprint regarding the Nexus One. Unfortunately, this handset model is not on offer as of now. Once it is launched, you will see promotional campaigns related to the launch date, cost and the features of the handset on our Web site and other promotional media. Thank you for showing interest in our products & services. Please let us know if you would like us to assist you with anything else.

Not much can be added here, as the “once it is launched” phrase suggests Sprint is indeed gearing up for having Nexus One available on its network too. However, it is still uncertain whether this was a slip from one of Sprint's employees or the statement has been misinterpreted. One way or the other, it shouldn't be too long before one of the involved companies unveil the truth, so stay tuned for more details on the matter.
