Recently launched by Sprint and Motorola, the rugged Android smartphone Motorola XPRT is now available for free from Amazon Wireless, but requires a new activation of a two-year agreement.

However, customers who opt for the free Motorola XPRT from Amazon Wireless will also receive a $15 in credits for apps, MP3s and Kindle content.

In addition, the major online retailer is offering free two-day shipping, along with an additional 2GB microSD memory card in the sales package.

Motorola XPRT for Sprint is aimed at business customers and provides solutions with enhanced features for a richer personal mobile experience.

Users will be able to take advantage of the phone's full-push corporate e-mail with corporate level security, a unified calendar with additional work features and the QuickOffice Mobile Suite.

Although the smartphone is said to be delivered with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, rumors say that a Gingerbread upgrade will soon be deployed.

Furthermore, the XPRT comes loaded with MOTOBLUR, which offers personalized content, including e-mail and social media updates, delivered right on the phone's home screen.

Besides its portrait QWERTY keyboard, the device also packs features such as touch-sensitive controls, multi-touch input method, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate, proximity sensor for auto- turn-off.

It also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, as well as video recording capabilities.

On the inside, Motorola XPRT embeds 512 MB RAM, 2 GB ROM and 8 GB of internal memory, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone's 1860 mAh Li-Ion battery should last for up to 380 hours in standby mode or up to 9 hours of talk time.

It is also worth mentioning that Amazon's offer is only available for new Sprint customers, which means that those who wish to upgrade will have to pay extra to get the Motorola XPRT.
