Slender smartphone

Sprint has already started rolling out the mobile phones it promised a while ago. After RUMOR by LG, we now have a release date set for the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 smartphone and some interesting specifications to look forward to.

BlackBerry Pearl 8130 looks to be one of the most reliable solutions for handling both personal and business data. The phone ditched old fashioned full QWERTY keypad for a more slender and sexier look, bringing it close to the design of regular handsets, although it packs double the power.

The smartphone integrates calendar management, personal and corporate email, as well as document viewing. Moreover, users can also take advantage of several exclusive Sprint services, such as Sprint Music Store, for downloading songs, Sprint TV, for watching TV or video-on-demand content, OnDemand and Sprint Navigation, as well.

BlackBerry Pearl 8130 comes equipped with built-in GPS and also has an external microSD memory card slot, for storing an extra amount of information. The 2 megapixel camera is the average one in the case of smartphones, as it will impress no one with its results.

"Operating on the Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 combines advanced smartphone features in an innovative design so customers can leave the laptop behind and live large, all at SprintSpeed", commented Danny Bowman, vice president of customer equipment for Sprint. He got so excited over the thought Sprint supporting the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 handset and said that this is the best BlackBerry candy bar form factor phone ever launched by the carrier.

All this makes excellent reference for the smartphone. BlackBerry Pearl 8130 will be available next month online at Sprint's website, through Sprint Telesales, Sprint business sales channels and retail locations. The carrier revealed nothing on the price that this handset will be available for.
