The “Spider-Man” franchise is being rebooted with a new storyline, a new cast of actors and, as a new report suggests, a new and improved suit for the world’s favorite superhero.

As fans must know, British actor Andrew Garfield will take on the role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man, for which he’s already started physical preparations – after all, a superhero must be in top shape, especially if he’s going to swing from building to building on a thread.

A new report cited by AceShowbiz suggests that the reboot will bring something to fans also in terms of Spidey’s costume, for which Garfield has already started fittings.

“The upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ movie will not only feature a new depicter of Peter Parker but also new costume for the superhero,” the e-zine notes, citing the latest reports in the US media.

“Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man suit has a high-tech design and he has been going through a rigorous dress rehearsal,” AceShowbiz says.

“Andrew has been through numerous fittings for the suit which is a very high-tech design,” an insider is cited as saying.

Admittedly, staff spent a lot of time working on a particular area of the costume lest it should be deemed offensive by more sensitive members of the audience: the crotch area.

“One whole day was devoted to make sure there was nothing inappropriate showing in the crotch area of the suit. Andrew should be flattered that it took so long to get that part right!” the same insider reveals.

In September this year, Garfield spoke for the first time of how it felt to know he was taking over for Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man, saying he’d be a hypocrite not to admit how much he had wanted this part, just like any other 5-year-old boy.

Also then, he promised he’d do whatever is asked of him (physically) to fit the part, which means he’s probably already started training since production on it begins in December.
